On Saturday 16th December The Norfolk Terrier Club of Great Britain held their Christmas Open Show at Weeden Village Hall in Northamptonshire. Judging the breed was Mrs Linda Cooper, who is also in charge of Norfolk rescue and is also our breed correspondent for Our Dogs. She drew an entry of 39 dogs, consisting of 18 dogs with 4 absent; there were 21 bitches with 9 missing from the show.

Andrew Gullick entered his current champion CH ARDERRY PENNY RED TO JAEVA in Open Dog to win Best Dog and Best of Breed. He is now in the joint ownership with Mrs G Van-Stuivenberg, but was bred by Debbie Mounfield, sired by Our Ruby Rascal to Jaeva out of Arderry Penny For Your thoughts. – he had recently won the Dog CC at Midland Counties in October.

Ruth Gee had a very good day, especially with her puppy WATERCROFT PINK FIZZ, born at the end of January this year, she is sired by Ch Strathinver Sea The Stars out of Watercroft Name Your Tipple (Ch Kinsridge Cash Back – Watercroft Top Tipple). She ended up winning Best Bitch from her kennel mate WATERCROFT SUZIE’Q, and was Reserve Best In Show and therefore Best Puppy.

Mary Atkinson’s CHARLIE BLAKE AT MOORTOP was Reserve Best Dog. He has two RCCs won this year. He was bred by Mr P Blakey by Mary’s Blakens Sugar Candy Dips out of Sheltrice Blakeys Molly (Wharfvalley Diamond Bright at Moortop – Sheltrice Magic Moment).

Ruth Gee’s Open Bitch WATERCROFT SUZIE’Q was the Reserve Best Bitch; she is by Ch Kinsridge Cash Back out of Ch Watercroft Top Of The Pops (Ch Kinsridge Top Gun – Watercroft Hot Cake).

The top Junior Handler was Isobel West: she has made a dramatic difference to the performance of DAJEAN DOTTY’S DIGGER, and has been doing very well in Junior Handling classes in England and abroad at the World Show with her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and her Norfolk Terrier.
