Delighted to say we have a second champion made up in as many weeks, with Gerda Van Stuivenberg’s CRO CH JAEVA BIT O’BOVER (Ch Jaeva Cufflink x Fontanesi Top Totty) getting that all important third CC to give him his title. He has only been lightly shown on Gerda’s behalf by the Jaeva team, with his other CCs coming at Southern Counties and Paignton. This will probably see him returning overseas to continue his campaigning in Europe.
This result was overshadowed somewhat though by the fantastic news that Karen Hurrion’s CH VALENTINES CHERRY CRUMBLE not only took the Terrier Veteran Group but went on to win BEST VETERAN IN SHOW under Norfolk Terrier specialist Peter Green from the USA. Thoroughly deserved Crumble, and a great advert for our breed’s longevity in the ring!
Back to news of the breed classes, it was a good entry of 48 for gundog specialist Julian Barney (21 dogs/27 bitches) with few absentees once again.
Our other recently crowned Champion, Ruth Gee’s WATERCROFT CALLING TIME had to settle for the RCC behind Bit O’Bover on this occasion. (He is by Ch Strathinver Sea The Stars out of Watercroft Top Tipple).
The Bitch CC went to Jackie Phillip’s CH MARCHDENS LOOK TO THE SKY FOR BLAKENS and, in one of the top spots yet again, Ruth Gee’s WATERCROFT GOLD DUST (Ch Kinsridge Cash Back – Ch Watercroft Top Tia) took the RCC.
It is worth mentioning I think that of the 18 Championship Shows so far this year, a Watercroft dog or bitch has been either CC or RCC at all but three – and one of those was because Ruth was judging – a good year so far Mrs Gee!!
BELLEVILLE BACK TO BLACK (Ch Belleville Seduction – Ch Allright Black Bess) was back on top again taking Best Puppy for Cathy Thompson-Morgan.
