Sunday 8th October was the date of the next championship show with tickets for Norfolk Terriers, South Wales Kennel Association, now moved from July to October. Mr Tan Nagrecha judged the breed now at the main Welsh showground in Builth Wells. He drew a good entry of 40, consisting of 16 dogs, less 3 absentees and 24 bitches with 4 absent.

Winning the male duel this week to the Dog CC and Best of Breed was Denise Horne’s CH MARCHDENS MARK MY WORDS, in the capable hands of Jackie Phillips. Sired by Moortop Marks Delivery (Blakens Sugar Candy Dips x Moortop Again No Choice), his dam is Lady Miss Cheif, who is by Jaeva Gorden Bennet out of Kinsridge Mischief Maker. (My computer still insists on trying to change the spelling of Miss Cheif). Andrew Gullick & Mrs Gina Van Stuivenberg’s CH ARDERRY PENNY RED TO JAEVAwas the RCC this time. Bred by Debbie Mounfield, he is by Our Ruby Rascal to Jaeva (Tegwani Tarot Reader x Jaeva Bee-Good); his dam is Arderry Penny For Your Thoughts (Jaeva Pocket Rocket out of Jaeva Ruby Tuesday). As these two pedigrees show, neither has any champions in the first two generations, and both breeders are trying new bloodlines to widen the gene pool.

Congratulations go to Andrew Gullick and Kate Tate for yet another Martin Phillips Jaeva champion to win a 3rd qualifying CC. This time with black & tan JAEVA BLUE LAGOON, who won her 3rd CC this year, she exploded onto the show scene at our Spring Club Show this year when she was Best in Show under Bob Blackley and then won 2 CCs under Norwich specialists, Garry Mason and Patricia Gray at Three Counties and Windsor respectively. She is sired by the multi Champion Jaeva Made In Gold on his return from being successfully campaigned in Europe while based in Sweden with Helene Ericsson; he was sired by Ch Kinsridge Top Gun out of Jaeva Fancy That. Her dam is Jaeva Miss Dynamite, a Ch Kinsridge Cash Back daughter out of Jaeva Pardon Me.

Jackie Phillips continued her very special day first winning the RBCC with her MARCHDENS LOOK TO THE SKY FOR BLAKENS who already has 2 CCs to her name. She is sired by Jackie’s Ch Blakens Pay Back out of another bitch originally owned by Margaret Horne, Pie In The Sky (Tegwani Tarot Reader – Golden Breeze) now with Margaret’s daughter Denise Horne. Jackie however went on to win Best Puppy with BLAKENS LOOK NO FURTHER, a red puppy born on Christmas Day last year by b&t Ch Blakens I Look To You out of red Ch Blakens Sugar Candy Kisses, who has already produced a champion in Ch Blakens Tootie Fruitie. Together they went on to be placed Puppy Group 4 under Judge Stephen Bardwell.
